In 1981 Belfast, the civilian eldest son of a prominent Provisional IRA commander risks his family’s safety and his own life by crossing militarized sectors to secret away with a stealth Protestant trans woman, forcing his battle-hardened father to weaponize the movement's underground network to build the couple an illegal, paper fortress against a polarized city.
